The Federazzjoni Maltija Vetturi Antiki has become a member of FIVA the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens and been officially appointed as the ANF (National FIVA Authority) for Malta & Gozo.

FIVA was founded in 1966 and has over 85 member organisations in more than 62 countries throughout the world, which in turn represent more than 1.5 million historic vehicle enthusiasts. FIVA also lobbies the relevant authorities to protect the interests of historic vehicle owners from ever-more stringent regulations, in order to ensure the continued use of classic vehicles.

For the local FMVA, official representation means that we are now part of a world-wide organisation that will surely be of help to local enthusiasts. This is all the more relevant when one considers how many Maltese classic vehicle enthusiasts are taking part in events in mainland Europe and even beyond.

Membership of FIVA is, in part, recognition of the sterling work carried out by the FMVA since 1998 to improve conditions for local enthuisiasts.
