New Black Classic Vehicle Plates Endorsed
On Monday 9th November 2015 during a packed meeting with its members, the FMVA was given the go-ahead to proceed with lobbying Transport Malta for black plates for classic vehicles.At stake was whether to retain the green plates which although cheaper (17.50 Euros per plate) had proved to be unpopular, or to adopt a more traditional black plate with silver characters. The latter plates would however be double the price due to the small quantities of these unique black plates that would need to be ordered.
As it turned out, those present at the OMC Club Premises overwhelmingly endorsed the black plate so now the FMVA's official position is to lobby for the members' wishes.
Proper and clear identification of certified classic vehicles is deemed to be of vital importance in order to curb abuse as much as possible.
